Spanish dubbed Russell Crowe gathered the animals in his massive wooden Ark this afternoon, I had been watching the movie Noah on the ETN bus back to Mexico City. Then we actually experienced a biblical rain, thunder and lighting storm in DF, it must have been a sign as we hadn’t really wanted to leave beautiful San Miguel de Allende.
Conde Nast Traveler magazine awarded San Miguel De Allende the 2013 prestigious title ‘The Best City in the World’. Locals in the know call the city SMA and we have been lucky enough to have just spent a few days there. We totally lucked out with our choice of apartment. For great value when we stay somewhere for more than a few nights, we aim to book through AirBnB rather than stay in hotels. Casa Maxim apartment was the best so far.
The Loft was just perfect for us with balcony French doors to let in the air and iridescent light, functional kitchen, massive comfy bed and a wonderful roof top fern filled terrace where we were able to catch the best sunsets. The open space, garden courtyard and homey owner extra touches such as flowers, fruit and wine made our stay extra special.
The apartment was located about a 10 minute walk through narrow cobbled streets from the main square; Jardin Principal and La Parroquia the San Miguel Arcangel Parish Church where all the daily action happens.
The apartment was in a really cute neighborhood, we will definitely have to return soon!!
